Laboratory animals

Working with laboratory animals entails a number of risks. Studies have shown that as many as 20-30% of people working with laboratory animals develop some form of allergic reaction. The most serious risk is the risk of developing allergic asthma which leads to a permanent and in the worst cases even life-threatening deterioration in the health of those affected.

Read about the risk of developing allergies and other risks entailed by working with laboratory animals and seek information about precautions or measures introduced or which you should implement to minimise and prevent the risk of developing allergies etc. Ask your colleagues or the occupational health and safety group for advice.
