New working hour regulations as of 1 October 2006

Dear all,

As agreed in the 2005 collective agreement, new working hour regulations for public servants will enter into force on 1 October 2006. This will concern the following groups covered by collective agreements as these refer to public servant regulations: Workers, clerical staff, laboratory technicians, public servants covered by the collective agreement of StK (the Association of Danish State Employees’ Organisations), cleaners (United Federation of Danish Workers, 3F). As for employees within warehousing and trade (Lager & Handel), the agreement has not yet been finally negotiated, and we therefore do not know the working hours for this group.

It should be mentioned that the collective agreement for the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) remains unchanged and as is also the case with the working hours for this group. The collective agreement for the gardeners (3F) is not linked to the public servant regulations in terms of working hours.

To implement the new working hour regulations at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (KVL), the staff office has prepared a schedule listing activities as well as a website containing the new rules, all KVL’s duty schemes as well as new forms, schemas, examples etc. The page will be available under Staff Office on KVL’s employee portal and will go live on 7 September 2006.

We will present the rules for the P network on 7 September 2006, in connection with which we will discuss the special needs of the individual departments in relation to implementing the rules. Follow-up on the P network is scheduled for October.

As appears from the new working hour regulations, all existing local working hour agreements, i.e. duty agreements and local working hour regulations can continue in their existing form. During Q4, the Staff Office will review the existing duty agreements.

Schedule with activities:

7 September 2006: P network

End of September 2006: Information to all employees in collaboration with Communications.

1 October 2006: New working hour regulations enter into force

26 October 2006: Follow-up on P network

31 December 2006: The Staff Office’s review of duty agreements completed

Kind regards,

Marianne Nielsen and Mie Weile
