Special holiday days earned

You earn 0.42 special holiday day per monthly employment corresponding to five special holiday days per year.

Special holiday days earned: 1 January - 31 December

To be held: 1 May - 30 April in the following year

Example:
Special holiday days earned in 2004 can be held from 1 May 2005 to 30 April 2006



If you are a part-time employee, you will also earn five special holiday days per year; however, one special holiday day will correspond to your daily norm.

Example:
Your work week is set to 30 hours corresponding to a daily norm of 6.0 irrespective of how the 30 hours are actually distributed during the week



If you are a trainee, you will earn special holiday days on the same terms as other employees.

If you are paid by the hour and have an average workday of 8 hours and your work hours are controllable (you have a fixed work hour schedule etc.), you earn the right to special holiday days on the same terms as other employees.

 

Special holiday days held

You can hold your special holiday days collectively, separately and/or as hours/minutes.

Up to 31 December 2007, you can choose not to take your special holiday days and have them paid out in cash instead. Until then, your manager cannot require you to hold your special holiday days.

From 1 January 2008, your manager can require you to take special holiday days by giving the same notice as with ordinary holidays.

You must agree with your manager when you want to take one or more special holiday days. Your request for a date for holding a special holiday day must be accommodated in so far as possible, but it is a precondition that the date is compatible with your work.

Special holiday days paid out

If you have not held all your special holiday days at the end of the holiday year on 30 April, they will be paid to you in cash with your salary before the end of June.
