The use of Danish in the internationalised university

The aim of the symposium is to discuss central issues related to language choice at universities and other institutions of higher education. Presentations and panels will be conducted in English.
This year, we have invited a number of researchers and international employees at the University of Copenhagen to come and discuss language demands, needs and experiences at the internationalised university.
From the University of Oxford, this year’s international guest, Professor of Language and Communication, Deborah Cameron, will address the symposium in the lecture: 'Nostalgia, guilt and panic: some remarks on verbal hygiene in the age of globalization'.
Prorector Thomas Bjørnholm; Jørn Lund Director of the Danish Society for Language and Literature and member of the Board of the University of Copenhagen; and Per Holten-Andersen Dean of the Faculty of Life Sciences, University of Copenhagen among others will visit the symposium to discuss the future language policy of the University of Copenhagen.
Everyone is welcome to attend the symposium and participation is free.
