Let's dansk - Danish in a parallel language work context

Dear employees at LIFE

With the campaign Let's dansk!, the Center for Internationalisation and Parallel Language Use (CIP) aims to focus attention on the importance of university employees speaking Danish at work. Danish and English are used as working languages at the University of Copenhagen and this puts huge demands on the University's employees.

Language should be learned where it's used

When international employees start learning Danish, it is crucial they get support from their colleagues and that their workplace creates opportunities for them to use Danish in their day to day work.

The Language Buddy Programme

A language buddy is a Danish colleague who will help you learn more Danish and also help create a good working environment in which you can learn more about each other professionally and culturally as well as personally. Ask one of your Danish colleagues to be your language buddy or contact your administration or CIP on if you need help finding a buddy.

Parallel language posters

Take a look at CIP’s parallel language posters in your department and translate everyday language with your colleagues. With CIP's parallel language posters you have a specific tool to ease the practice of parallel language use in your everyday work.
