Review process concerning Economics at University of Copenhagen has been started
As part of the follow-up on the 2007 merger a review process has been initiated with the purpose of looking at the collaboration between LIFE and the Faculty of Social Sciences (SAMF) in the field of Economics.
The review process is headed by a steering committee consisting of the head of the Institute of Food and Resource Economics and the head of department of the Department of Economics and two external members.
In addition to reviewing the current state of the Economics areas at the University and analysing the needs of the employers of graduates, the committee is tasked with identifying possible gains of improved coordination and joint activities between the Institute of Food and Resource Economics and the Department of Economics. The review also involves setting up a number of scenarios for the future collaboration including assessing the pros and cons of merging the entire Economics area at the University or parts of it.
In their final recommendation, the committee will point out the scenario that will give University of Copenhagen the strongest profile in the field of Economics in terms of research, education, society and business. The review report is planned to be submitted to the deans of LIFE and SAMF before 20 June 2011 following an internal hearing in the academic environments.
For more information on the review process, please contact Temporary Dean Erik Bisgaard Madsen, Dean Troels Østergaard Sørensen, Head of Department Henrik Zobbe or Head of Department Christian Schultz.
