Impressive increase in number of quota 2 applicants for LIFE’s BSc programmes
LIFE has experienced an increase of 23% in the total number of quota 2 applicants with a 10% increase in applicants who have applied for a BSc programme at LIFE as their number one priority.
Animal Science, a new BSc programme at LIFE from 2011, received a total of 126 applicants!, including 40 who have LIFE as their number one priority.
The BSc programmes in biology-biotechnology, landscape architecture, veterinary medicine and food science also experienced an increase compared to last year.
In spite of the modest number of students being admitted via quota 2, these numbers give us some idea of the interest in LIFE’s degree programmes. It is the first pointer to this year’s applicant profile as a whole.

Facts:
Applications for the bachelor’s programmes are submitted two times a year, in the middle of March (quota 2) and in the end of June (quota 1). Quota 1 applicants are admitted on the basis of their GPA only, whereas quota 2 applicants are able to include other elements in their application, including work experience, etc. Today, only 10% of students are admitted via quota 2.
