Exchange students: evaluation of the academic year 2010/2011
The Faculty of Life Sciences received 288 exchange and guest students during the academic year 2010/2011. The Secretariat of Internationalisation has asked them to evaluate their stay, and 233 of the 288 evaluated their stay electronically.
The exchange students that evaluated their stay at LIFE in the academic year 2010/2011 were very satisfied and liked the faculty. 95 % would recommend LIFE to others and they were especially content with the following points:
· Good information and assistance
· The high academic level
· The high level of the teaching and assistance from lectures
· The facilities at LIFE
There are however, also things that could be improved. The results of the evaluation shows that LIFE could do better with regard to the following points:
· Some find the housing too expensive.
· There are not enough First Contact mentors and there should be more activities in the period after the weekend trip.
· There are too many different webpages and email accounts.
· English is not used in all lectures and not all information on campus is in English.
· The exchange students would like to have more opportunities for contact with Danish students.
The following quotes are representative for most of the comments the students had:
“My overall experience about LIFE and about University of Copenhagen in general, is very positive. I'm delighted how perfect administration can work. The assistance from the very beginning to the very end was perfect”
“I can say that my studies at LIFE were really good, the Faculty is amazing, the Danes are sweet and kind, the professors are really willing to help and I really enjoyed everything here!“
