Course: The Professional Coordinator - learn to manage a team – 11 October 2011
The requirements for the coordinator in an FP7 project is complex - they range from strategy towards intercultural understanding and communication and financial understanding. Get the tools to handle the job professionally and with confidence.
The course focuses on the coordinator role in a project under FP7 COOPERATION. The course addresses:
- Employees who must perform the role as coordinator in an FP7 project such as administrators and researchers at universities or private business
- Employees who plan to undertake the role as coordinator
- Experienced coordinators who wish to fill "gaps" out.

EU Prize for Women Innovators - deadline 20 September
The prize will be awarded to three women entrepreneurs, who were at some point during their careers beneficiaries of funding for projects under the RTD Framework Programme (FP) or the Competitive and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP).
1st prize: €100 000
2nd prize: €50 000
3rd prize: €25 000
The application process is relatively short and straight forward, with just 3 steps.

Danish funding sources
The Danish Council for Technology and Innovation (RTI) invites applications for innovation consortia.
Innovation Consortia is a framework for cooperation between companies, research institutions and nonprofit consulting and knowledge partners. RTI provides grants for a joint research and innovation project between the parties.
The project must meet a specific development needs of participating companies but also be of interest to a wider part of the Danish industry.
All companies and research institutions can apply - there must be at least 2 businesses, a research institute and an advisory and knowledge part of the consortium. There is no requirement that participants must be Danish. But it is a requirement that the project seeks funding to promote and strengthen research and innovation in Denmark.

Research funding from Carlsberg Foundation
Carlsberg Foundation supports basic scientific research in the natural sciences, humanities and social sciences.
Clinical, technical and other applied research projects fall outside the framework of the Foundation.
No funding for PhD scholarships, unless these are part of a larger research project funded by the Carlsberg Foundation.
Application deadline is 1 October, 12:00.

Villum Foundation individual post doc scholarships
The scholarships are open to young Danish researchers with a view to continuing their research after the PhD degree at a Danish or foreign research institution.
There can generally only be awarded scholarship to stay at a university, and the scholarship must generally be commenced within three years after the award of PhD degree.
The scholarship is accompanied by a demand for mobility, which means that applicants who at time of application are abroad, must use the scholarship at a Danish institution, while candidates who at the time of application are in Denmark, as a general rule must use the scholarship at a foreign institution.
There can not be applied for continuation of ongoing VKR scholarships.
The scholarships are normally given as 1 or 2 year scholarships.

Visiting Scholarships at UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced og UC Santa Cruz (CITRIS)
VTU has signed a partnership agreement with CITRIS at the University of California. The agreement provides researchers and graduate students at Danish universities with the opportunity to apply for a research stay at CITRIS of 3-6 months.

French-Danish cooperation
Its aim is to foster French-Danish applications to the Framework Programme and to promote the development of French-Danish scientific co-operation between universities and public sector research institutes by providing support for new scientific collaborations between two (or more) research teams working on a common project.
The priorities for 2012 will be within the following fields: green technologies, micro- and nano- engineering, health, food, Information and Communication Technology, and research related to Greenland.
Application period from 15 August to 31 October 2011.
