Students from all over Europe gather at LIFE for the ELLS Conference
Students from all over Europe will gather at LIFE for the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) Scientific Student Conference on Friday and Saturday 12 and 13 November
The ELLS Scientific Student Conference 2010 will be held at LIFE this year and the conference title is: “Food and the Environment – production, quality and planning”.
On the Friday morning, the participants will take part in a ‘Campus Orienteering race’. The actual conference will open at 14:00. Keynote speaker will be the Danish Minister for Climate and Energy and Minister for Gender Equality, Lykke Friis. The subjects of the conference sessions include subjects such as Environmental Planning and Management, Water resources, Agriculture in a Bio-based Economy and Food Quality and Food Safety.

The student conference will take place in the Marble Hall (‘Marmorhallen’) where participants will also enjoy a buffet dinner on Friday night as well take part in a dinner and dance on Saturday night.
Also, on Thursday and Friday the board of ELLS will hold a meeting and workshop on Student Mobility and Programme Development within the ELLS Network. This meeting will take place in the main lecture hall (‘Festauditoriet’). At the conference, the presidency of ELLS will be transferred from BOKU to LIFE for the next three years.
The Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) is a network of leading universities cooperating in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Life Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Food Sciences, and Environmental Sciences.
