Presentation of grants to international students at LIFE’s 152nd anniversary - 11.03.2010

At the celebration of the 152nd anniversary of LIFE - Faculty of Life Sciences on 8 March 2010, the Union of Natural Resource Students (FN) presented ‘The International Grant for Natural Resource Students’ to three Erasmus Mundus students. The grants are presented to international Erasmus Mundus students who demonstrate excellent academic skills and distinction and show great ambitions:

 

From Sustainable Development in Agriculture (Agris Mundus) the grant was given to Nina Bienz. Nina Bienz is from Canada, and is paying for her education herself. She is determined and has a clear academic goal. Throughout her studies, Nina has been highly devoted to her courses and achieved good results.

 

From Sustainable Tropical Forestry (SUTROFOR) the grant was given to Shauna Deidre Matkovich. Shauna Deidre Matkovich is from Canada. She is full of initiative and shows academic distinc­tion. Throughout her studies, Shauna has been highly devoted to her courses and achieved remarkably good results. Moreover, she has contributed to social activities such as UN “julefrokost” 2009.

 

From Sustainable Forest and Nature Management (SUFONAMA) the grant was given to Seid Muhie Dawud (photo). Seid Muhie Dawud is from Ethiopia and has been called a 'shining star' in the scientific field. Seid has shown excellent academic skills and distinction in his studies at LIFE. He is very devoted to his studies and shows high social competence and is helpful to his fellow students.

  

                                      

 

The prizes and the grants of DKK 3,000 were presented by the chairman of the Union of Natural Resource Students, Andreas Carstensen.

 

Receiving the grant, Seid Muhie Dawud expressed great appreciation for being able to study at LIFE and in Denmark. He said that coming from a background in rural Ethiopia, taking an Erasmus Mundus degree was a great opportunity for him, for which he was grateful.
