Students present award to professor who spellbinds his audience with tales of the cell - 11.03.2011
Best Teacher of the Year Award ‘Den Gyldne Tyr’ 2011 went to Professor Lars-Inge Larsson, Department of Basic Animal and Veterinary Sciences at LIFE
Professor Lars-Inge Larsson from LIFE is not only an excellent cancer research scientist. He can also spellbind his audience with his many tales of cells when he teaches cell biology and histology to students of veterinary science at LIFE. In their speech to professor Larsson, the students praised the award-winning teacher as a humorous person whose entertaining lectures about an otherwise dry subject are remembered with joy.
At LIFE’s anniversary event, he received 'Den Gyldne Tyr' award which is given to the best teacher of the year at LIFE.
’Den Gyldne Tyr’ award has been established by the LIFE Students’ Association (De Studerendes Råd (DSR)) to acknowledge outstanding teaching which, from the point of view of the students, should not be a secondary job carried out alongside research but should be valued and appreciated in its own right.
’Den Gyldne Tyr’ award is given to an academic member of staff at LIFE who has made a special contribution to teaching. It is distributed in connection with LIFE’s anniversary in March.
