Social activities for LIFE students
Throughout the year, various social activities are arranged for all LIFE students and for international students specifically.
International Graduate Orientation Programme (IGOP)
The International Gradate Orientation Programme is a four week introduction programme for all new international full-degree students at LIFE. It introduces students to LIFE's campus, facilities, methods of instruction, Danish culture and language and the city of Copenhagen. An important part of the programme are all the social activities like dinners and excursions to some of the main attractions in the Copenhagen area.

First Contact activities
If you have signed up for a First Contact, you can join some of the social activities arranged by the First Contacts throughout the first semester. E.g. you can go on a weekend trip with you fellow Danish and international students, you can go on excursions to some of the main attractions in the Copenhagen area and you can join and international dinner for all international students at the Faculty.
International Dinner
Every year in November, LIFE arranges an informal dinner party for all international students at the Faculty. Every student have to bring a traditional dish from their home country and after dinner you can try to dance traditional Danish folk dance before you can hit the dance floor to the latest hits available on a huge juke box.

Student parties
The Student Association (DSR) hosts two to three parties a year and the parties are open to all LIFE students.
Every year in May, the veterinary student association arranges the so-called "Smediefest" (the Forge Party) - a two-day party and all LIFE students are invited to join. A revy is arranged, where students make fun of each other, of teachers and professors, the Faculty management and the Faculty administration. In the afternoon of the first day, all students and staff meet for a barbeque, drinks and live music at the central lawn of the faculty. Two nights in a row, some of the most popular bands in Denmark perform live in a huge tent which is set up on the old campus ridebane.
Student bar
The student bar, ”A-vej”, is open Tuesday and Thursday 14-18 and Friday 14-24. The bar is run by the many different academic associations represented in the Faculty Student Association. Almost all Friday nights have a different theme, making LIFE's student bar one of the most attractive places to go out in the Frederiksberg area of Copenhagen.

Film club
The DSR Film Club shows films approximately once a month. All LIFE students can join for free.

LIFE's birthday
The Faculty also celebrates its anniversary every year in March. Join your fellow students for breakfast, listen to live music and nominate your favourite teacher of the year. Maybe you will even become the lucky winner of a student grant presented by the Faculty Student Association.
