Admission Requirements

Applicants for single subjects must fulfil the same admission requirements as full-time students. Generally, this means that they must have completed their upper-secondary education (Upper-secondary school leaving examination, higher preparatory examination (HF), higher technical examination (HTX)) with mathematics, chemistry and physics. Other qualifications within an area may also be required. You are always welcome to contact the person responsible for the course or the Office of Continuing Education.

 

Applicants wishing to do individual subjects at the Faculty of Life Sciences typically have a short, medium-long or long further education. In processing applications, we take account of the applicants’ work experience.

 

Applicants with English as a second language must pass one of the following English tests: 

 

1) The IELTS test - International English Language Testing System, with a minimum score of 6.0.

2) The TOEFL® Test - Test of English as a Foreign Language™, passed with a minimum score of 83 in the internetbased test (IBT) or minimum 560 in the paper based test. The computer based TOEFL test is not accepted at LIFE.

 

Exemptions from taking the one of the above mentioned language tests is given to:

- applicants from countries where the national language is English

- applicants from Scandinavia, Nigeria, Ghana or Cameroon.

- applicants who can document that English was the medium of teaching during the BSc degree

 

Language tests older than 2 years are not accepted. Applicants must have their test results sent directly to the Faculty of Life Sciences.

Online courses

E-learning courses where all instruction and examination is conducted 100 percent electronically (online courses) are only open to single subject students, if they are attached to a project, organisation, partners, etc and with close relations to researchers at the Faculty of Life Sciences.
