Veterinary Master level courses

 

Course language:

 

  • Final year veterinary courses taught and examined in English are: “Biomedicine specialisation course” and “Animal Health Research and Health Promotion, elite course”. The rest of veterinary master level courses including clinical courses are at present taught and examined in Danish.
  •  LIFE offers a number of other relevant master level courses taught and examined in English, e.g. “Parasitic zoonoses”, “Human parasitology”, “ Laboratory animal science”, “Control of Foodborne Microorganisms” and others.
  • Danish is the language used at the faculty clinics. However, all staff and students as well as most clients speak English and are used to English-speaking students in the summer period.

Course admission requirements:

 

  • All courses require a BSc degree in veterinary science or fulfillment of all basic and preclinical veterinary courses, i.e. approximately three years' veterinary studies in a European veterinary education system or two years of study in the North American veterinary education system.
  • The final year elective specialization courses, see list below, requires fulfilment of at least one year’s veterinary courses at master level including basic veterinary public health, internal medicine, surgery and basic clinical hands-on training.
  • Admission to courses taught in Danish requires oral and written proficiency in a Scandinavian language as well as good working knowledge of English. Exempted from this requirement are the elective veterinary specialization courses, see list below.
  • To be admitted into courses taught in English a high level of English is expected.
  • Priority is given to students from partner universities.

Course availability

 

Two spaces are reserved on all MSc courses for exchange students who meet the admission requirements. Additional spaces may be available depending on the number of full-time students enrolled. Please note the language requirements.

 

MSc elective veterinary specialization courses exempted from the Danish/Scandinavian language requirement:

  

* Courses taught in Danish. Exchange students with a good knowledge of English may also participate but will be dependent on the ability and willingness of staff and fellow students to communicate in English in the clinical settings.
