EnvEuro - Environmental Science: Soil, Water and Biodiversity

 

 

The EnvEuro MSc programme focuses on the relationship between the use of natural resources in Europe and the effect it has on the environment and health. It aims at providing analytical and management tools as well as environmental technologies for sustainable production systems in areas with high pressures on natural resources.

Why study Environmental Sciences: Soil, Water and Biodiversity?

You will be able to work professionally with identification, characterisation and solving

of problems related to the use of natural resources based on a thorough insight in European ecosystems and principles used in current European environmental

management.

 

How is the programme structured?

EnvEuro features an introduction to environmental science, six different specialisations (Water Resources; Environmental Impacts; Soil Resources and Land use; Ecosystems and Biodiversity; Environmental Management and Climate Change) and a thesis in environmental science.

 

You initiate the EnvEuro programme by following a basic semester at one of the four partner universities, which will become your home university. You continue your studies at your home university by choosing a specialisation for the second semester. Between the first and the second year you can choose to participate in a non-compulsory summer school about Environmental Case Studies in Europe.

 

After the first year, you will have to go to one of the three other partner universities,

where you can either continue your second semester specialisation or choose a new

specialisation. You conclude your studies by writing a research-based thesis during the

fourth semester.

 

What are the career opportunities?

EnvEuro candidates qualify for environmental careers in private companies

and the public sector related to:

 

• Analysis, Monitoring and Modelling
• Environmental Technology
• Environmental Regulation, Planning and Control
• Impact Assessment and Risk Analysis
• Research and Education

Environmental careers will be found in the environmental sections of industries,

environmental technology companies, consulting companies (agriculture, engineering), public administration from local to governmental levels, laboratories, universities and other research institutions, and in development agencies.
