Students from 39 countries take part in introduction course at LIFE

Again this year, Study and Students’ Affairs at LIFE are organising a 4-week International Graduate Orientation Programme for the new international MSc students who are starting at LIFE this Autumn. This year, 63 international students from 39 different countries are taking part in the course which will provide the students with a very good basis for a successful and positive stay at LIFE.

The orientation programme, which started on 9 August and runs till Friday 3 September, covers introductions to LIFE’s many facilities, including the library and computer facilities, a Danish crash course, guided tours of LIFE, Frederiksberg and Copenhagen, lectures on intercultural issues, introduction to group work and project work, academic writing and Danish study culture as well as the practical paper work related to the study start.

During the course, the new students are also introduced to the LIFE Students’ Association (DSR), the Life Science gardens, the café Væksthuset and LIFE’s campus in Taastrup. Halfway through the course, an international dinner will be arranged for the students where they will each bring a dish from their own country and have the opportunity to taste typical Danish food.
