Building a Network at Networks for LIFE
Networks for LIFE – Your career event on 17. march in Marmorhallen is your chance to build contacts - or to network - with companies that you are interested in or maybe would like to work for in the future.
Networking leads to jobs: In 2009, more than 50 per cent of LIFE’s graduates got their first job through networks built while they were studying, for instance through student jobs, practical training or by writing a thesis based on a case from a company.
How do you build up a network and get the most out of ‘Networks for LIFE’?
Before the networking event, we recommend that you:
- Imagine yourself in your first job. What will it take for you to reach that goal. Maybe it involves a student job, practical training or writing a thesis together with the company.
- Look at your goal(s) and make a list of what you need to do to reach the goal(s). It may for instance involve getting contact information (mail/tel), a meeting or a visit to the company.
- See the the companies attending Networks for LIFE 2011 and go to their websites for information in English) and prioritise the companies that are most important and relevant to you.
- Make a list of questions you would like to ask the companies.
- Bring a CV or an application and ask the representatives of the unions or unemployment insurance funds to give you feed back on you style.
