Building a Network at Networks for LIFE

Networks for LIFE – Your career event on 17. march in Marmorhallen is your chance to build contacts - or to network - with companies that you are interested in or maybe would like to work for in the future.

Networking leads to jobs: In 2009, more than 50 per cent of LIFE’s graduates got their first job through networks built while they were studying, for instance through student jobs, practical training or by writing a thesis based on a case from a company.

 

 

How do you build up a network and get the most out of ‘Networks for LIFE’?

Before the networking event, we recommend that you:

 

1. Imagine yourself in your first job. What will it take for you to reach that goal. Maybe it involves a student job, practical training or writing a thesis together with the company.

2. Look at your goal(s) and make a list of what you need to do to reach the goal(s). It may for instance involve getting contact information (mail/tel), a meeting or a visit to the company.

3. See the the companies attending Networks for LIFE 2011 and go to their websites for information in English) and prioritise the companies that are most important and relevant to you.
   
   
4. Make a list of questions you would like to ask the companies.

5. Bring a CV or an application and ask the representatives of the unions or unemployment insurance funds to give you feed back on you style.
